Qatar rail plans to create more than 7,000 jobs

Work on building a fully integrated rail system in Qatar will start "as quickly as possible" and will create more than 7,000 new jobs, a leading official said on Sunday.Ghanem bin Saad Al Saad, managing director of Qatari Diar and chairman of the Qatar Railways Company, said the project would be one of the biggest projects of its kind in the Middle East.

"We look forward to starting our work to establish this state-of-the-art, integrated rail network as quickly as possible - connecting various railways around Qatar as well as other rail networks across the Gulf," he said in a statement which did not give a specific start date.
